NWFWMD Water Shortage Warning Order

On February 11, 2026, the Northwest Florida Water Management District issued a Water Shortage Warning Order calling for voluntary reductions in water use for all waters within the district, which extends from Escambia County east through Jefferson County. District-wide streamflow conditions and groundwater levels triggered this warning order, and the forecast through April 2026 indicates above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation. PWS encourages water conservation every day of the year, yet we have an abundance of fresh water to supply our customers. Our water supply is more than adequate to meet demands and no reduction in supply will occur as the result of the warning order.
