Reclaim Water Irrigation Schedule Recommendation
October 02, 2019
As the hot and dry weather continues, it is up to the members to make adjustments to their irrigation systems and efficiently irrigate their yards. Currently, the best times to irrigate your yard are from 12 am until 5 am. This time of day is providing the most pressure for your system. Please adjust your timers to take advantage of this time frame.
Please ensure that you are watering efficiently. The key to watering your grass is to apply enough water to soak down to the depth of the roots. The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) recommends the application of 1/2" to 3/4" of water per watering session. Most lawns need 1" of water per week either from rain or watering. This amount may be divided into two waterings per week. Overwatering is just as bad for your lawn as underwatering.
Reclaim water supply is limited to the amount of wastewater treated daily. The efficient use of reclaim water will ensure all residents have access to it.
